Hi Nigel,

In order to find the root cause of the issue, could you please provide the following information for troubleshooting?

1. Have you tried with another computer to reproduce this issue?

2. Did all the users with edit permissions in your organization run into this problem?

3. Could you edit the pages of a newly created site?

4. Could you capture a screen shot of the grayed buttons when you try to edit the page?

Thanks for your cooperation and support. I will be waiting for your updates.

Best regards,

Nancy Xie

Hi David,

I don’t think the issue you encountered similar to the one discussed in this thread.

The issue in  this thread seems to be occurring during the service upgrade. I’ve checked the history and an investigation request was submitted. The engineer admitted the issue is a known one however there wasn’t any issue description.

The issue was under actively fixing and I assume it is resolved now, hence I suggest you post a new thread with your issue description on our forum, and we can try to dig further on the issue.

Thanks,
Evan Zhang

Hi Nancy

I have tried three different computers with IE 10 and IE 11 and Firefox.

I am the only person who can edit the site.

I created a new subsite and I cannot edit the pages of that either.

Screenshot as requested of the new subsite showing that "edit","check out", "new" greyed out.:-

Hi KefA,

Microsoft is aware of this issue at this time. We are working hard to make the OWA for iPhone app available again to our customers. Sorry for inconvenience may have been caused by this issue. When there is any update about this issue, I will post the information here in time. Your understanding and patience are appreciated.

Best regards,
Aaron Yuan

Hi Asen,

We can only sync libraries like SkyDrive Pro library or Team Site libraries to the local with SkyDrive Pro client.

As a workaround, you may consider creating a library in the Team Site. After doing that, please let the users store these shared files in the library. At the same time, you can grant the appropriate permissions to control these users to be able to access the files.
After that, they or you can sync the library to the local.

About how to control the permissions, here are two articles for your reference:
Introduction: Control user access with permissions

Edit permissions for a list, library, or individual item.

SkyDrive Pro Files Not Showing Up on Other Devices

I have a SkyDrive Pro account with work and I've loaded it onto my personal laptop (Windows 7) so I can save all my work in one location.  It was working fine for awhile (3 months) but for the last month whenever I save something from my personal laptop to SkyDrive Pro it doesn't show up on my work laptop.

If someone else has run into this problem and knows the solution I would be most grateful.

Thanks,

D2

Hi D2,

From the description, would you please first confirm if the files are uploaded to the cloud SkyDrive Pro library properly?

If the files shows properly on the cloud SkyDrive Pro library, are there any error messages showing? To narrow down if the issue related to the broken caches of SkyDrive Pro, I'd like to confirm the following information:

1. Does the local synced library on the work laptop show "green tick" as the screenshot below shows?

2. Does the SkyDrive Pro client on the work laptop show "Up to date"?

If the answer to the questions above is yes, to try solving the issue, would you try stopping syncing the library and then re-syncing the library again?
Reference: Stop syncing a library with SkyDrive Pro
http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/support/stop-syncing-a-library-with-skydrive-pro-HA102850041.aspx

Additionally, please check if the work laptop has the latest Office updates. We can install the updates via Windows Update.

For any updates, please post back when you have time.

Thanks,
Ida Qiu

Ida,

Yes everything has the green checkbox, but I can't see where on the Surface Pro 2 (Windows 8.1) I can check to see if SkyDrive is up to date. So I'm not sure how to check that.  My laptop say's it's up to date though.

Thanks,

D2

Ida,

I just noticed that individual files in my folders do not have the checkmark next to them.  How do I make sure it sync's?

Hi Myles, when trying to filter or sort on the checked out to column, what if you receive the message:

Seems our library is too big to do any sorting or filtering.

Unable to sync OneDrive / Skydrive Pro

My Skydrive Pro (Office365 E3 plan) won't sync.

So I stopped synching and tried to re-synch by clicking the synch icon in the Office365 porta.

It fails with

"Unable to parse SOAP response. XML error 0x-1072896680 'XML document must have a top-level element.'

Any ideas?

Do I need to do something to handle the OneDrive - Skydrive transition?

Hi Ioanna,

Based on your post, I’d like to share you with an article about the copyright for you reference:
http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/legal/intellectualproperty/Permissions/default.aspx
It’s allowed to include the information you mentioned in the page by follow the guideline above.

In addition, I notice "We have also developed a company intranet in SharePoint Online 2013 to handle team projects and tasks, which improves collaboration, and enables us to provide you with better services" in your post. Actually the word “SharePoint Online” is enough here, because we have fully migrated all customers to SharePoint Online 2013 now.

Lawliet Xu

Is there any ETA on when we can expect OWA to become available again?

Hi Evan

1)      Screen shot of pages library showing checked to me

2)      See same screenshot

3)      No – tried this and same problem.

4)      See second screenshot.  I edited the “Page Content” field.

I have checked in the page, checked it out again and attempted to edit it.  Same issue.

Is the content database set to “Read Only” ?  If this was happening to an on-premise site this would be the first place I would look, for  site collection with these symptons.

RE: Skydrive (Pro) / SharePoint not recoverable from Cryptolocker virus?

Hi BlueSnowman,

I understand you are concerned about the following scenario:

The virus break the files synced in local OneDrive for Business folder. The corrupted files get synced to the cloud. What can be done to restore the files to the previous version? The files are not deleted. So restoring files is not for this scenario. Restoring the file to a previous version can fix a file. However, there are so many documents. Restoring them is a heavy workload.

For the time being, Office 365 hasn’t provided this feature to restore all the files for one time or restore a site/library to a previous point-in-time. I appreciate your bringing this question and I can completely understand you concern. It would cause much inconvenience if lots documents get corrupted by the virus. I have forwarded this to our product team and I believe there will be new features in the future to control this. You can also leave your comments to the product team via this link:

http://g.microsoftonline.com/0BX11EN/135

The new feature releases often originate from customers' feedback. In the feedback description, please specify your situation and requirement in detail.

Although SharePoint Online does not have this option now, other community members are welcome to share relevant experience and tools.

Thanks,
Kevin Cui

Thanks for the confirmation Kevin

I suggest Office 365 is not really fit for purpose then?

It is sold as a robust system and that backups and resilience are taken care of by Microsoft - indeed many of my clients wanted me to implement Office 365 because of this.  And I believe Office 365 is marketed as such?

But clearly in some scenarios, companies may actually face (in reality) total data loss as recovering one file at a time is not really appropriate or acceptable.

Can't believe this isn't clearer anywhere, nor well known.

I will highlight this to the press as this is probably quicker than the product team.

If anyone has any solutions for this scenario then please let me know, else my customers are clearly exposed at the present time.
